Every time I enter Siofra River in Elden Ring, it takes my breath away. The herd of deer walking around, the sky, the water and giant trees everywhere, it's just gorgeous.
Every. Single. Time.
While working on Returned from the Stars, I started thinking about the logistics of Morgott guarding the approach to Stormveil. He's not there all the time, obviously, the man has other things to do.
The best solution I could come up with is that there's some sort of motion sensor/scrying rig that lets him known when things are approaching the bridge. Then I realized that such a device would have to be sensitive to power level.
Otherwise Morgott pops in several times a day and starts his "Foul Tarnished..." speech, only to look down and see a sheep or a springhare wandering around on the bridge.
Curious 9

this is a Godskin Prayerbook, a book holding minor arts of black flame used by the Godskins to slay and flay Gods and wear their pelts. Yet we find it and a tailsman locked in chests in the storage room of Stormveil Castle. Why is it there of all places, was it here before Godrick took over, did a soldier find it and bring it in, or was this some kind of gift? My choice is that it was found somewhere and was taken in but Godrick or his men didn't understand the scripture cause of the lack of a cleric. But just the idea of Godrick learning black flame (ball and blade) could make him pretty deadly, like him adding it to his wind attacks. My favorite idea of him using this is conjuring a black flame ball, shoving it into his dragon's mouth and blasting out a mixture of black flame and dragon fire out to his opponents. Hell he'd probably share the spells with the exiled or the banished or even his own soldiers and knights, I would've loved to see all this unfold if only we didn't show.
Thinking about artificial life forms in elden ring. There's the albinaurics and their two generations, living jars and that's what I know for certain are sentient beings. Something to note with the jars is that the jar shard mentions it has hardened after death so how hard are they normally? Also who or what group gave life to either species and for what reason?
There's also the Crystalians which aren't created as far as I know but simply beings related to the Primeval Current of magic though if formed or simply transformed into is beyond me. Had to mention them
That of course leaves us with beings on the cusp of being considered alive/sentient or are just a robot. There's the mechanical abductor virgins which I'm unclear on due to the meaty center, Golems which I'm certain are just robots, and stone clusters which I couldn't tell you. I am fairly certain they are related to the evergaols, perhaps a lookout for if they escape? Gargoyles are also something that I can't quite definitely judge the sentience of, neither their broken, regular enemy form.
Things like the watchdogs and imps I am fairly sure also fall into the robot category like golems since crystal darts seem to make all 3 go haywire.
Another one that provides questions are the slimes, Are they related to those who live in death, being filled with bones and all? Does the lands between simply have these things?
Other beings I am unsure of:
Erdtree avatars: Came to being after the shattering, extension of the golden order? Are they even artificial or like the final form of a guardian?
Tree Spirits: serpentine movements, shape, and patterns remind me of the elden beast. Possible connection as an extension of its will?
Silver Tears: I know cut content has an silver tear npc but other than that, its sorta in limbo and up to interpretation.
just an assortment of thoughts.
I find it very funny that grian just dropped the tidbit that grumbot has possibly killed his alt self and maybe scars too, then never brought it up again. Like bro, what do we do with this info???
Grian making Zedaph blow up TNT on Doc's base, and Scar killing another Bdub's horse is a clear demostration that these guys will never learn
thistoowillpasss asked: you ever think about how there is a big jar in raya lucaria? what's the jar studying 🤔
he’s going to college to get more knowledge!!!
Having your own personal blog is honestly quite a nice change of pace compared to Reddit. I could put a funny GIF of George Bush getting hit by a shoe on here and the worse case scenario is that no one even notices.
You put that on a big subreddit and you get your eyes gouged out and a heap of political discourse underneath your post.
Every life SMP I remember off the top of my head as I type this, but combined and made worse in every way I can conceive. Everyone has 2-8 lives, except Doc, who has unlimited lives. The goal of the series is to defeat Doc. Doc's goal is to defeat everyone else by whatever means necessary. There are soulmates, but the soulmates change every 20 minutes. There is the Boogeyman, but another Boogey man is added for every 10 minutes there are no Boogeyman kills. Scar automatically has one life, but every Jellie cat he tames gives him one more life, but if a Jellie cat dies he loses 2 lives. Grian has to steal Mumbo's mustache within the first 3 episodes (assuming anybody makes it past the first episode) or he loses 3 lives. Joel and Jimmy cannot be more than 20 blocks away from each other at any time or they both start taking damage. Etho is 100% invisible (no particles or anything) at all times. Bdubs catches fire every time he touches a bed. Pearl and Impulse spawn in the Nether, 14,000 blocks away from each other. The dragon egg grants infinite lives to whoever holds it. Lizzie and Bigb all spawn on their own separate end islands. (I'm not a masochist so the people who spawn not in the overworld automatically get a set of wooden tools and a stack of baked potatoes, but that's it). Ren and Scott spawn on a 3x3 stone cube at build height.
etc. etc. etc.
… *gestures vaguely* … this post, or whatever.
"A submarine has gone missing" : Oh jeeze, I hope they find those people.
"A submarine visiting the wreck of the titanic has gone missing" : Well, that's a little ghoulish but I can't blame folks for a morbid curiosity, especially at a monument to white man's hubris.
"An experimental cobbled together submarine visiting the wreck of the titanic has gone missing" : Well at this point y'all were just taking your lives into your own hands and also how is 'slapped together submarine' a legal thing that's real.
"An experimental cobbled together submarine full of the absurdly wealthy visiting the wreck of the titanic has gone missing" : Okay now this just feels a little too on point someone has to be joking with me.
man call me crazy or whatever but i'm not very thrilled with the fact that the takeaway that all of y'all are getting from the titanic submarine crisis happening right now is
"People able to spend exorbitantly for some tourist trip thing deserve to die a horrific and torturous death via suffocation after spending 96 hours in mounting dread and awareness of that oncoming reality, all inside a 20 foot long windowless iron casket lost at sea"
and how it isn't
"There is no way in fucking hell that it should be legal to take people into such high-risk environments with zero regulations and shoddy work which almost certainly factored if not is the cause of this crisis to begin with, and the problem isn't that people will spend lots of money on dumb shit, it's that there are companies allowed to prey on that with no oversight"
